Oh, Yes. A Blog.
Oh, right. I have a blog.
I haven’t posted much lately, since there hasn’t been anything significant to show in terms of knitting or spinning. I haven’t finished anything lately, although I am getting close. We recently got a new TV and an XBox, and that’s eating up a lot of my time. I spent money I probably should have saved on Geometry Wars and Fable II, and I’ve become a little bit consumed by that. L picked up Civ Revolution today, though, so he’ll probably want to spend more time with it now, freeing me up to knit and spin a little more.
Despite the new toys, I’ve finished the gusset on the second Tyrolean stocking. I could finish that off in one good evening of knitting. Finally. These have taken entirely too long. I love the pattern, but it’s so tedious to knit worsted on size 1 needles. If I ever knit another pair, I’m definitely going with a DK weight.
I also took the afternoon today to spin up the final bobbin of the Pigeonroof roving. I’ve been a really big slacker with the spinning, but I’ll probably ply those together sometime this week. That will put all my old projects to rest, and I’ll be free to start on new ones.
Definitely will be knitting some Hera socks next, but I haven’t decided on what roving I’ll be spinning. I certainly have plenty of stuff in my stash to choose from, much of it Hello Yarn. I haven’t even touched any of my Fiber Club shipments. I also have some Turkey Attack I got from someone’s destash, some of my own fiber that I dyed up over the summer, some little Terra Bella Spun batts that could be spun up with some plain alpaca or merino, and that English Leicester that I was trying to spin up into an aran weight for a sweater. I really should go for the sweater yarn, since I think anything else I spin would end up being used in socks. I have way too much sock yarn right now.
I’ll be updating the shop this coming weekend, starting on the 20th. The days are getting longer, but I still don’t get home with enough time and daylight to take pictures of the rovings during the week. I’ll be able to dye up what’s left and let it dry during the week, and on Friday, I should be able to get all my pictures done. Then I’ll do my gradual posting over the weekend until I have no more rovings to add. I hate doing updates that way, but with Etsy, it’s the easiest way to keep a presence in the search listings and the most effective way to make sales.
