Beer and a Sock

It’s Wednesday, I’m drinking some Blue Moon, and I’m totally ignoring the sock because I’m afraid I’ll knit looser than my already totally loose gauge.

I’ve been really enjoying the Hera socks. They’re moving along quickly, and I love doing the little cables to create the herringbone pattern. I’ve been doing them the same way that I did in the Tyrolean Stockings, and it’s super easy. I don’t even have to use a cable needle or drop stitches off the needles. Since I’ve seen some people complaining in the descriptions of their Hera socks about the twist cables, here’s the instructions I’m following for mine:

Right Twist: K2tog and keep the stitches on the left needle. Knit the first stitch again, by itself, and slip both stitches off the left needle.

Left Twist: Ktbl of the second stitch on the left needle and keep both the first and second stitch on the needle. Knit the first stitch and slip both stitches off the left needle.

I hope that helps anyone who might come across this post.

Anyway, totally enjoying these socks, and I would definitely recommend the pattern.

Blue Moon is good beer. Sweet yummy orange and spicy nutmeg. I have been drinking Sam Adams Boston Lager. I get one beer every few days, I enjoy it immensely. Love the socks!! Really pretty pattern, they are in my queue!
